An expedited security screening program connecting travelers departing from the United States with smarter security and a better air travel experience.
No hassle for 5 years!
How many times have you stood in line at the airport watching others breeze through security with no hassle? By enrolling in TSA Pre✓® , you you too can breeze through security. Keep your shoes, jacket and belt on; your laptop in its case; 3-1-1 compliant liquids in your bag; and enjoy a better overall travel experience. TSA Pre✓® allows low-risk travelers to experience faster, more efficient screening at participating U.S. airport checkpoints for domestic and international travel.
How does TSA Pre✓® work?
Previously, TSA Pre✓® was only available to members of certain frequent flyer programs through participating airlines and to CBP Global Entry members. Now, the TSA has expanded TSA Pre✓® for anyone wishing to apply at one of the growing number of airport locations or authorized IdentoGO® Centers.
If you’re eligible and approved for the TSA Pre✓® program, you will be given a Known Traveler Number “KTN” to use when making flight reservations. KTNs can also be saved in an airline or travel agency profile. Participating airlines will print a TSA Pre✓® indicator on your boarding pass. When you arrive at the airport, look for signs for the TSA Pre✓® lanes and present your boarding pass and Government-issued ID to the Travel Document Checker. Children ages 12 and under may join you in the TSA Pre✓® lane.
TSA Pre✓® applicants must be U.S. citizens and Lawful Permanent Residents (LPRs). Web pre-registration is optional and allows applicants to schedule an appointment. All applicants must visit an application center to provide biographic information (e.g. name, date of birth, address, etc.), fingerprints, payment and validation of required identity and citizenship/immigration documentation.
TSA Pre✓® FAQs
- What is TSA Pre✓®?
TSA Pre✓® is one of several intelligence-driven, risk-based initiatives helping TSA move away from a one-size-fits-all model helping to provide the most effective security in the most efficient way. U.S. citizens who are members of a U.S. Customs and Border Protection Trusted Traveler program, such as Global Entry, SENTRI, and NEXUS and Canadian citizens who are members of NEXUS
